Field Claims Adjuster

 JOB SUMMARY/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:

An independent, insurance property adjuster, who works primarily on losses resulting from sudden and accidental events, to serve as a representative of our insurance company clients. S/he will provide timely customer/insured contact, investigation of claim via physical inspection as well as via verbal interaction with the insured, writing of estimate according to the guidelines and coverage provided by insured’s insurance policy as well as settlement of claim.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Adhere to all PCS guidelines and as well as insurance client’s guidelines concerning, but not limited to the following: work conduct, customer service, policy, claims process, estimate writing, and claim closures as they relate to given claim assignment. This will insure PCS’ working relationship with our client(s) as well as the adjuster’s working relationship with us.

Consult with field support team, including but not limited to: claim manager(s), quality control, file review, team lead (both PCS and client, if assigned), and Adjuster Relations team, in an effort to receive support specific to the assigned storm assignment.

Provide quality customer service to all assigned, insured claimants throughout the claims process to ensure timely contact with the insured.

Inspect claimant(s) property with the use of proper attire/appearance/equipment to insure safe working conditions as well as to maintain the image of the insurance company for which adjuster is contracted to provide insurance adjusting services.

Perform estimating of claims in designated software as required by either PCS or client needs in order to accurately and efficiently produce both the claim estimate as well as the client invoice, which PCS uses to bill the clients.

Update Human Resources and deployment staff concerning current experience, licenses gained/renewed, certifications earned, and any other pertinent contact information. This will help PCS maintain a current and accurate view of our adjuster base and the skill set it offers.

Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge

Knowledge of Property Insurance Policy terminology required. Successfully applied knowledge of each phase of the property claim handling process.

Proficient in claims adjusting software programs. (Xactimate and/or Symbility).

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated with strong organizational and analytical skills preferred.

 

Collaborations

PCS Staff & Management, Assistants, and Insured’s.

Experience

2 years of Property Adjusting field experience preferred. To include: Residential, Commercial, Farm/Ranch, Exterior/Interior inspections, Large Loss, wind/hail, hurricane, tornado, fire, and sewer backup, etc.

Education Required:

High school diploma or some college preferred.

Pre-licensing/state occupational license testing for at least home/designated home state.

Property Adjusting course, continued education courses as required in order to validate state licensing and required certifications.

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:

Adjuster is required to climb roofs while adhering to all safety regulations and have the ability to work with exposure to outside weather conditions.

Adjuster must have the ability to communicant remotely with Manager, and/or insured as needed.

An appropriate and respectable vehicle for travel.

A valid driver’s license and up to date vehicle insurance is required.

LOCATION & COMMUTE:

Daily Claims Adjusters typically choose their own territories. Most territories are determined by the adjuster’s home area and income desired. Population will determine claim volume.

Catastrophic (CAT) Claims Adjusters are deployed anywhere within the United States top work primarily on losses resulting from a catastrophe. Once on location, travel can be very centrally located within a zip code up to an entire state depending on the volume and population of the event area. Population of the event area will determine claim volume.

ATTENDANCE:

Incumbent possess the ability to be available/or on call for claims assignments.

A motor vehicle records search will be conducted on an individual’s driving history when driving is an essential requirement of the position and a credit history search will be conducted for positions that involve management of funds and/or handling of cash or credit cards.
